Nampa Discount Furniture and Mattress Store in Karcher Mall Hosts Car Wash for Church Youth Group

Nampa, Idaho – Discount Nampa Furniture and Mattress store located in the Karcher Mall is hosting a free car wash organized by the Victory Christian Church youth group. The event starts at 10:00 am, and donations will be accepted but not required.

Tim Roberts, owner of the store and a member of Victory, says he’s looking forward to helping the teens save up enough money for a trip to Lagoon, an amusement park in Utah, later this summer.

He says the Victory youth group is a good group of kids who are not afraid of a little hard work washing cars.

Youth Pastor Chris Jones agrees. “Their trip was postponed once because of the cost. Tim wanted to help, so we thought a car wash at the mall on a sunny Saturday would be a good place to start.”

Roberts says he is willing to help cover some of the costs of the youth group’s outing, but Pastor John Dotson, affectionately known by Victory youth as PJ, says this is less a fundraiser than an act of service.

“Whether or not any money is raised is secondary. If they don’t get a dime, they will have still served the people of Nampa, and that’s the bottom line.”

He says Victory teaches its kids that service comes first, and he wants the car wash to be an object lesson in service.

“As these kids honor God with their lives, I believe God will bless them. Maybe that will be with a family camping trip to an amusement park, or maybe it will be with something completely different. All I know for sure is that God is good!”

To find the free car wash, go the Karcher Mall (1509 Caldwell Blvd., Nampa, ID) and drive around the back on the right (west) side of the mall. Look for a canopy in the parking lot and a Victory Christian Church banner!
